  • Classics take center stage

MOUNT VERNON — Sunday afternoon offered the chance to see classic and antique cars as well as amazing motorcycles during the final day of the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival.

More than 60 motorcycles lined up around Public Square. The show was sponsored by Mid-Ohio Suzuki-Honda-Yamaha-Kawasaki.

The awards consisted of:

•Best of Show was won by Dave Cook.

•Touring Class was won by Gary deCaro; Troy Hoeflich was awarded second place while Dave Priest took third.

•Custom Class was won by Derrick Pollack; Nelson Hack was awarded second place and Cook took third-place honors.

•Cruiser Class was won by Cook’s Custom Motorcycles with Dave Cook taking second place and Gary Pollack taking third place.

•Vintage Class was won by Jim Buckwald. Jim Biro took second place and Keith Metcalf was third place.

•Sport Class was won by Adam Thompson with Jason McClung placing second.

•Trike Class was won by Don Hyatt Sr. Second place was awarded to Biro with third place going to Carl Parrish.

The Dan Emmett Antique and Classic Car Show drew a large crowd of car owners and car enthusiasts Sunday afternoon.

The event was sponsored by Donley Ford-Lincoln-Mercury of Mount Vernon.

Cars came from all over the state to vie for more than 60 different awards. The top two awards were:

•The People’s Choice Award won by Happ Henthorn of Mount Vernon.

•The Best of Show was awarded to Paul Gray of Johnstown.
