MOUNT VERNON — The city will be doing work on the storm drainage on the hill at Chestnut Street all next week, said Mayor Richard Mavis. The construction will close the road between Stevens Street and Edgewood Road during the day only.
“We will be putting in an extension of pipe in the ditch on the south side of the street to carry storm water down to the Edgewood intersection,” he said. “This project we will be doing in-house, by our own department, and the cost of material is $6,200.”
