UTICA — Meeting in special session Thursday, the North Fork Local Schools Board of Education talked about improving the dialogue in the district.
“We are working on communications with the board and the community,” Superintendent Scott Hartley told the News on Friday. “That’s something they can look forward to in the near future.”
The board then went into executive session to discuss personnel and upcoming contract negotiations.
Returning to open session, the board employed Tammy Faucett on a one-year limited contract as guidance secretary at Utica High School, retroactively effective Aug. 9. It also voted to recall bus driver Bruce Gutridge from the reduction in force, and approved a list of athletic supplemental contracts: Melissa Bovee, assistant volleyball coach; David Dumpster, volunteer assistant football; Robert Ferguson, track and cross country head coach; Michael Heckman, assistant football coach; Bren Henderson, assistant football coach and head baseball coach; Alva Heskett, assistant girls basketball coach; Ervin Hughes, volunteer assistant wrestling; Eric Lindsey, assistant volleyball coach; Terry Logue, assistant boys basketball coach; Mike Magers, assistant softball coach; Bonnie Ramseyer, volunteer assistant softball; Charlie Rowley, assistant football coach; William Schultz, assistant girls basketball coach and assistant volleyball coach; Pam Vickers, assistant girls basketball coach; Dustin Walker, assistant football coach; and Justin Wohlford, assistant baseball coach.
The nest regular meeting of the North Fork school board is scheduled for 7 p.m., Sept. 20 at Newton Elementary School.
