PALMYRA — A crash between a Honda Civic and a Boyd Brothers Trucking dump truck resulted in injuries this morning.
The crash, on Ohio 13, a quarter mile north of the Knox-Richland County line took place about at 9:45 a.m. Preliminary reports indicated the Honda Civic driver went left of center. The Honda missed the front end of the truck, driven by Bob Robinson, and caught the left rear outside dual wheel. The impact ripped the tire off the rim and flipped the truck on its top.
Rescue squads from the Fredericktown Community Fire Department and Jefferson Township Fire Department at Bellville used cutting shears to cut the top of the Honda and remove the injured driver. MedFlight was called in and Paul Hardy, 71, Mansfield was taken to a Grant Hospital in Columbus. His condition is unknown at this time.
Robinson was taken to Knox Community Hospital by the FCFD for treatment. Trucking company owner Tom Boyd said Robinson had a bump on the head and was heavily shaken up. He was wearing his seat belt.
