MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Commissioners held a special executive session meeting Wednesday night to discuss hiring a new superintendent for the Knox County Water and Wastewater Department.
After the meeting, the board announced the hiring of Jason E. Figgins, who has been with the department for about three years.
“Jason possesses the highest certification of anybody who applied,” said Knox County Commissioner Allen Stockberger. “He has the unique ability to bring the three years of experience with the department and can bring that experience to the job. However, he has not been there for 25 years so he can still bring the zeal of a newcomer to the position.”
Figgins was born and raised in Zanesville where he graduated from Marysville High School. He studied Environmental Resource Management at the Muskingum Area Technical College in 1996.
