MOUNT VERNON — On Friday Knox County Common Pleas Judge Otho Eyster sentenced Floyd O. Daniels, 32, Mount Vernon, to a two-year prison term for aggravated trafficking in drugs.

Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher said on July 10, 2008, Daniels sold Oxycontin pills to a confidential informant working for the Mount Vernon Police Department.

Agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration assisted Detective Sgt. Jeff Jacobs, Detective Cpl. Matt Dailey and Detective David McElroy, MVPD, with the investigation.

Daniels was also fined $5,000.00.

Thatcher said in a separate case Daniels also received a concurrent 11-month prison sentences for receiving stolen property and misuse of credit card charges. On Feb. 19, Daniels used another person’s credit card to make unauthorized purchases of over $4,600.00. Daniels was ordered to restitution to the victim. McElroy investigated the case.
