FREDERICKTOWN — One of the most popular attractions at the Fredericktown Tomato Show each year is the annual Lip Sync Contest, with this year’s edition taking place Thursday evening. Solo, duet and group performers have delighted the crowd in past years with their fun lyrics, elaborate costumes and creative choreography while competing for a variety of prizes.

The 2010 contest’s theme was “Rock’n and Roll’n through the Decades.” Contestants competed in age groups of 8 years old and younger, 9 to 11 years old, 12 to 15 years old, and 16 years old and older.

Age group winners were selected, and other awards were presented including the Director’s Award (best overall performance), Best Costume Award and Best Theme Award.

The very first performance of the night was presented by the 2010 Tomato Show Board of Directors, as they thrilled the crowd with their medley of rock and roll hits relating to the contest theme. Master of Ceremonies Alyssa Stevens then welcomed the audience and the contestants made their way to the stage.
