ST. LOUISVILLE — On Monday, Utica Junior High School special education teacher Erica Rodehaver was formally recognized by the North Fork Board of Education when it met at Newton Elementary School. Rodehaver is a recent recipient of the DOW Professional Excellence in Education award.

“It is an honor to be recognized with this award,” Rodehaver told the News. “It feels good to know that what you do is appreciated. I don’t want to think that I did anything extra, or anything that wasn’t expected of me. I’m just doing what I love and what is best for our children. I have been teaching here at Utica Junior High for six years and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”
