Head Start awarded $200,000 grant

Cleaning up
A Knox County Highway Department crew closed Mishey Road, near Knox Lake Road, for most of Thursday to clear limbs and brush blown down in the storm on Sept. 7. Because it is leaning out over the road, this big tree will also be removed in the near future. (Virgil Shipley)


No injuries in crash
Driver Kennelyn Alexander, 67, Mount Vernon, told the Ohio State Highway Patrol she blacked out before this crash Wednesday at 1:25 p.m. The OSHP said she was eastbound on New Delaware Road when her car ran off the curve, just before the intersection with Harcourt Road. She and her passenger, Joseph Baldwin, 90, Mount Vernon were not injured. (Virgil Shipley)
