Measuring the distance

Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Mason Boyce measures the road after a two-car crash Sunday at 7 p.m. on U.S. 36 at Pipesville Road, just east of Howard. The patrol report said Alexis Johnson, 20, Howard, pulled from Pipesville Road into the path of this car driven by Robert Wolf, 17, Walhonding. Both were wearing seat belts and suffered from minor injuries. Johnson was charged with failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign.  (Virgil Shipley)

Asleep at the wheel

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Jane Hyatt, 54, Mount Vernon, went to sleep when her car left Ohio 229 east of U.S. 62 at Rutledge Road, Friday at 10:10 a.m. The patrol report stated she was eastbound when her car left the road, knocked down a stone fence and overturned, landing on the wheels. She was not wearing her seat belt and escaped with minor injuries. She was charged with failure to control.  (Virgil Shipley)

Rain doesn’t dampen Sonfest

Fredericktown dominates at Centerburg Invitational

Mount Vernon blows out Franklin Heights
