  • City projects moving ahead

  • October 9, 2010 3:00 am EDT

MOUNT VERNON — Several city projects are , or well on the way to being finished, city engineer Cameron Keaton told the News on Friday.

He said the Gambier Road and Edgewood Road improvements are about 40 percent complete. The concrete curbing has been placed on the south side of Ohio 229, and the asphalt is expected to be applied early next week. Toward the end of the week, Keaton continued, the contractor will be moving to the north side of the roadway and begin work there. Traffic will be on and off one lane and two lanes, depending on the type of work.

Completed projects include the Wooster Road water tank rehabilitation, the Sychar Road sidewalk project and the Hiawatha Park parking lot project.

Additional city projects are in the bidding process, Keaton said.
