Cornfield fire under investigation

Record walk
The Saturday morning Walk for Life netted pledges of $31,435.07 for Care Net Pregancy Services of Knox County. The two-mile walk from the center at 11 Woodlake Trail, ended with a tour of the facility for the 143 who participated. (Submitted photo)


Fredericktown cornfield fire
A bearing in Harold Parks’ combine overheated on Sunday and set fire to five acres of corn, some of which had already been harvested. Fredericktown Community Fire District Chief Scott Mast said flames were shooting 20 feet high and were fanned by a brisk wind. Firefighters Bronson Mast, left, and J.P.
