MOUNT VERNON — A missing Wellington woman’s car was located in Peebles on Monday, but there was no sign of 38-year-old Gwen Wright.

Wright was last seen at 11:54 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6, leaving a Walmart in Oberlin in her dark blue, four-door 2002 Dodge Neon.

Wright’s husband, Dwayne, noticed money had been withdrawn from their bank account at a First-Knox National Bank ATM at 1:37 a.m. on Thursday in Mount Vernon. The Wellington Police Department acquired the surveillance video from First-Knox and Dwayne identified his wife. It did not appear anyone was in Gwen’s vehicle, said Steve Rollins, Wellington Police Department chief.

Fliers have been circulating around Mount Vernon seeking information from anyone who may have seen her during that time.

Her purse and cell phone were still in the vehicle, spotted at a car dealership. WPD, and Gwen’s family, traveled to Peebles on Monday to continue the search. Her vehicle was taken back to Wellington on Tuesday.

Calls to Rollins seeking additional information were not returned at press time.

Anyone with information on Gwen Wright is asked to call Wellington police at (440) 647-2244.
