MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Educational Service Center is “still in a positive state financially,” Treasurer Heather Darnold reported at Wednesday’s meeting. She said September receipts and expenditures were about what was expected.

Board president and legislative liaison Richard McLarnan said he had no legislative update because lawmakers are not currently in session. “The election’s coming up.” he said, “Go vote.”

Regarding personnel, the board employed Tasha Jammison as a special education teacher in Danville. It also approved a service contract with Danville Local Schools to provide a teacher and one classroom aide in the Danville preschool unit. Supplemental contracts for after school activities at the Alternative Center were issued to Bert McDonald, bike shop; Derek Roth, guitar lessons; and Abby Maitland, art therapy. These will be paid through the 21st Century Learning Grant. The board employed Stan Fox as an intervention specialist at the Alternative Center and contracted with the Coshocton County Board of Developmental Disabilities to provide one half day a week of occupational therapy. Melissa Archibald will be the assigned therapist.
