UTICA — According to Superintendent Scott Hartley, Monday’s meeting of the North Fork Board of Education was largely routine.
Regarding personnel, the board accepted a letter of resignation from cashier Karen Frazier, retroactively effective to Sept. 17. It also recalled one-on-one aide Christine Cline from the Reduction in Force, approved Jayme Blackstone as a home instruction tutor for a health-handicapped student, issued a number of extra service/supplemental contracts, and added to the classified substitute list. It also approved a list of substitute teachers and accepted Tracy Brewster, Bonnie Buchanan, Staci Canterbury and Laura Muir as volunteers for the 2010-11 school year.
Other board action included the approval of addendums to the contracts with the teacher’s association and nonteaching personnel union. Hartley said there were no major changes to the previously ratified contracts. The board also approved an eighth-grade trip to New York City in May. This will be at no cost to the board.
The Finance Committee Meeting scheduled for Monday, Oct. 25, at 6:30 p.m. at the North Fork Local Schools Administrative Offices is being changed to 5 p.m. at Utica Senior High School on the same date.
The next regular meeting of the North Fork Board of Education will be held at 7 p.m. on Nov. 17 at Utica Senior High School.
