  • Utica Merchants hosting candidates night

UTICA — The Utica Merchants Association will be hosting a Meet the Candidates event Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. at Newton Elementary School. Candidates for local, district and state offices up for election as well as those representing various issues will be on hand to speak and field questions from those attending.

Master of ceremonies will be Rick Heath of Hite and Heath Attorneys who will be introducing each speaker. Scheduled guests on the agenda are Knox County Commissioner candidate Roger Reed; three Licking County Commissioner candidates; Superintendent Scott Hartley speaking for North Fork Local Schools; Superintendent John Shepard representing Northridge Local Schools; as well as representatives for state representatives, state senators, treasurer of state and state governor, among others.

Light refreshments will be served. Efforts are also being made for the event to be broadcast live on WCLT AM, according to event coordinator Tom Rosser.
