  • October 26, 2010 11:53 am EDT

FREDERICKTOWN — Hot coals dumped from a grill started a fire in corn stubble Monday, according to Fredericktown firefighters.

The field is on Armentrout Road northeast of Fredericktown. The fire started about 2 p.m. Worthington Township, Butler Firefighters, on station at Fredericktown for the department that was at the Mount Vernon fire, and a Fredericktown grass truck stopped the fire that threatened to spread from the wind. The blaze burned about two acres.
