Flames doused, investigation begins

Smoke was still coming from the old Kresge building on South Main Street early this morning. A fire gutted the building Monday. The Mount Vernon fire and police departments, the state fire marshal’s office and a national response team are investigating the fire.  (Virgil Shipley)

Tearing down the building

Early morning demolition work at the intersection of Ohio 13 and Ohio 95 in Fredericktown soon reduced the BellStores building to rubble to make way for a planned larger facility.  (Pam Schehl)
