  • HOOT right of way gets approval

  • October 29, 2010 11:15 am EDT

MOUNT VERNON — A right of way agreement was reached Thursday afternoon between the Knox County Commissioners, and Tom and Sue Marshall of Mount Liberty.

The Marshalls own property in Liberty Township as well as operate The Berry Barn, which sits at the north end of their property. Running across their property is the Heart of Ohio Trail, which was formerly the Conrail Railroad tracks. While the trail is scheduled for blacktopping very soon, the Marshalls had requested access for use of the trail for their animals and for use for hayrides and hay wagons for their business.

“We have farm equipment and animals, we do hayrides, and we use the path to cross the creek,” said Sue Marshall in a telephone interview following Thursday’s meeting. The Marshalls have owned the property since 1998. The Heart of Ohio Trail was constructed in 2004.
