The Mount Vernon Fire Department said grain caught fire, setting fire to the cab of the combine and to standing corn. A Mount Vernon Fire Department grass truck quickly controlled the fire. The project is for the Shade Tree Commission and is the first of seven they will build, one each year, in other parks. The gazebo will be 8-by-16 feet in size built with treated lumber, composite deck and shingled roof. There will be seats on two sides. They expect to complete this gazebo this fall. The car went over a curb and plunged down the hill. According to the police report, the operator of the vehicle left the vehicle running for the dog. Theibert noted the vehicle was in drive when inspected at the bottom of the hill. Layton said before the pavement is laid, a 6-inch drain tile will go in an 18-inch deep trench.
