Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Malcolm Hunter is asked to call the MVPD’s detective division at 740-393-9536.
“Apparently she had contacted a family friend or family member and told them she was going to be there,” said Detective Sgt. Jeffrey Jacobs of the MVPD. “She told them where she was and they contacted our department.”
Det. Dave McElroy and a Delaware County Sheriff’s deputy gained custody of the minor.
She is doing well, Jacobs said.
“Right now we believe she had gone willingly with Malcom Hunter,” Jacobs added. “She was scheduled to be a witness against him in court on a charge of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.”
Hunter was indicted by a Knox County grand jury in August.
Jacobs said Hunter remains at large. It was unclear whether any additional charges would be filed against Hunter in this incident. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Hunter is asked to call the MVPD’s detective division at 740-393-9536.
