MOUNT VERNON — Officials are still searching for the whereabouts of Malcolm Hunter.
Jamie Stoutenburgh, 14, Mount Vernon, was believed to have been with Hunter when she was reported missing by her parents on Sunday. Stoutenburgh contacted a family member on Wednesday and authorities picked her up at a Pilot gas station in Sunbury, according to the Mount Vernon Police Department.
Hunter was indicted in August on one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. After he failed to appear for his arraignment, a warrant for his arrest was issued on Sept. 1. Officials said Stoutenburgh is expected to testify against Hunter.
Hunter is a black male, 21 years old, 5 feet 4 inches tall with black hair and brown eyes. It is believed he could be driving either a red Chevrolet Camaro or a brown Ford Crown Victoria. McElroy said Hunter is believed to be somewhere in the Columbus area.
