MOUNT VERNON — The phrase “coming soon” never sounded any better for craft enthusiasts.
Pat Catan’s Craft Center is planning to open in mid- February at a new store location in Knox Village Square.
“Pat Catan’s is family-owned and operated, and has been in business since 1954,” said Ray Young, spokesman. “We know that our success comes from the communities where we do business. We are pleased to be opening in Mount Vernon and we very much look forward to becoming a part of the community.”
The 35,000-square-foot store will carry a wide range of craft, hobby, art and floral supplies. Also the craft center will offer a variety of pre-made frames, and supplies for jewelry making, sewing, and scrapbooking.
“We will have floral designers and craft coordinators available to assist customers with their creativity. Our stores also offer craft classes, and conduct demonstrations on the latest crafting products and trends,” said Young.
Pat Catan can be found at many locations around Ohio and Pennsylvania.
“We opened a store in Wooster a couple of years ago and it has had a very good reception from the residents of that area. We think our Mount Vernon store will be able to similarly serve its community,” he said.
Most importantly, Young said people will have fun shopping for their creative needs.
Hiring for the store is schedule for Monday with open interviewing between 1 and 4 p.m. at the new store location of 1550 Coshocton Ave., next to Peebles.
