MOUNT VERNON — News staff reporter Pam Schehl has been named to the 2010 Ohio School Boards Association Media Honor Roll. Both Centerburg Local Schools and the Fredericktown Board of Education nominated Schehl for the award, which recognizes reporters for “fair and balanced education reporting, and exemplary service to the community.”

On Nov. 8, Centerburg school board president Roger Clark presented Schehl with an honor roll certificate and Fredericktown did the same on Tuesday.

In the formal resolution honoring Schehl, Fredericktown school board president Thomas Seymour said, “We express our appreciation for your balanced and accurate approach to sharing with this community both the challenges facing our schools and the successes achieved by the staff and students, Your work has aided this community in focusing on the goal of providing the best public schools we can for every child who attends them.”
