  • Utica council explores cuts

  • November 16, 2010 11:27 am EST

UTICA — The atmosphere was somber during Utica’s finance committee work session, Monday night, as talk of what areas revealed the most red in the village’s budget.

“We all know the situation we’re in,” said Councilwoman Cathy Evans, chairwoman for the finance committee. “We knew that there were going to be some cuts that had to be made in order to satisfy the budget for this coming year.”

In a previous work session, council members identified areas that were in the deficit. And several areas were considered for possible elimination and cutbacks.
