  • North Fork school board approves tax abatement

UTICA — The North Fork Board of Education on Monday approved a tax abatement agreement with Catalina Tempering-Ohio Inc.. The 15-year enterprise zone property tax abatement would apply to any new construction at the company’s planned site at 140 Cary St.

Superintendent Scott Hartley told the News on Tuesday the school board believes the tax abatement is important to encourage new business in Utica, and Licking County Commissioner Tim Bubb was at the board meeting to support the measure as well. Catalina will mean 25 new jobs now, and estimates 50 new jobs in three years.
