GAMBIER — Due to a water line repair in Mount Vernon that feeds Gambier, the entire village of Gambier is on a boil order as of 4 p.m. Friday until further notice.

MOUNT VERNON — A boil advisory is in effect for consumers on Gambier Road from Eastern Star Road past Summer Lane and includes Maplewood Condominium, Park Road, Laurelwood Drive, Laurel Court, Laurel Valley Drive, Laurel Hill Court, Fox Chase Drive, Deer Run Court and Summer Lane.

This was due to contractors working in the area. As a precautionary measure, all residents in this area, who were without water, should bring their water to a rolling boil for a minimum of 2 minutes to ensure safety for consumption. This procedure should be followed until the advisory is lifted.

Door hangers were not placed in the affected area. Any questions may be directed to the Mount Vernon Water Department at 393-9504 during business hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
