MOUNT VERNON — There has been no progress in the search for Malcom Hunter, according to the Mount Vernon Police Department.

Hunter was indicted in August on one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. After he failed to appear for his arraignment, a warrant for his arrest was issued on Sept. 1.

On Oct. 31, a 14-year-old girl, Jamie Stoutenburgh, reportedly a witness against Hunter, was reported missing by her family. She was believed to be in the company of Hunter at the time. She was found three days later at a gas station in Licking County. At this point no additional charges have been filed against Hunter.

“He hasn’t been located yet,” said Detective Sgt. Jeffrey Jacobs of the MVPD. “There hasn’t been anything come back to us that anybody has caught him on our warrant. We’re still waiting to hear and hopefully he will get picked up somewhere.”

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Hunter should contact the detective division of the MVPD at 393-9536.
