MOUNT VERNON — Patrons of Fiesta Mexicana Express at 1061 Coshocton Ave. can once again enjoy Mexican cuisine under the ownership of Jose Avalos. Having been closed for less than a week, Avalos purchased the business back from Hector Villarreal, who had taken over ownership of the business in December 2009.
“He just wasn’t having a lot of success and offered to sell the business back,” said Avalos, who also owns Fiesta Mexicana at 308 W. High St.
Avalos opened Fiesta Mexicana Express in April 2008 after having much success with his restaurant on High Street.
Stating he will keep the menu pretty much the same as it has been, Avalos just wants his loyal customers to know the restaurant is back open once again under his management.
“There will be a lot of coupons passed out downtown (Fiesta Mexicana) and here (Express) as well as in the [Mount Vernon News]. We will also be selling liquor, but no beer or wine.”
The restaurant reopened Monday and is now open 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5 to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays; noon to 10 p.m., Saturdays; and noon to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
