MOUNT VERNON — According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, two people were hospitalized, neither with life-threating injuries, following a near head-on collision Friday at 1:40 p.m. at the top of Ebenezer Hill on Wooster Road, five miles north of Mount Vernon.
A southbound vehicle driven by a 62-year-old male from Mount Vernon went left of center. He struck a northbound vehicle driven by a 44-year-old Howard woman. College and Monroe Township fire departments had to cut the driver’s side doors off both vehicle to free the drivers.
A MedFlight helicopter landed on the surface of Wooster Road and flew the Howard woman to The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus. An infant in her car was not injured, according to the OSHP.
The male victim was taken by squad to Grant Medical Center. The road was closed for an hour while the wreck was cleared.
No further details were available at press time.
