DANVILLE — The individual accomplishments of various Blue Devil football team members were highlighted when the Danville Board of Education met Monday evening.

The rest of the meeting was largely routine, Treasurer Mary Payne told the News on Tuesday.

Besides approving routine fiscal actions, she said, the board approved membership in the Ohio School Boards Association and renewed membership in the Metropolitan Educational Council. It also accepted an amended agreement with the Knox County Educational Service Center.

The board issued a supplemental contract to Elizabeth Durbin as debate advisor, approved an hourly rate to be paid to Elaine Didinger when working, as needed, as supervisor of the cafeteria and approved a number of new policies and revised policy to comply with changes in state and federal regulations. It also approved a list of parent volunteers to transport Mock Trial team members to competitions.

The organizational, budget and first regular meeting of 2011 will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 10. Brent Kaylor will serve as president pro tempore until the election of a new president.
