MARTINSBURG — A Centerburg man remains in the Knox County Jail today after being arrested early Sunday morning.

Joseph M. Worley, 33, is suspected of robbing the Martinsburg Marathon at about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. According to reports from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Worley fled the scene in a vehicle stolen out of Licking County earlier that day.

According to Capt. David Shaffer, Worley stole cigarettes from the Marathon station, which were found by Knox County Sheriff’s deputies when they apprehended Worley.

He is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday for charges of failure to comply with an order of a police officer, driving under suspension and failure to use reasonable control.
