MOUNT VERNON — Teresa Bemiller was elected president of the Board of Knox County Commissioners when it conducted its 2011 re-organizational meeting on Jan. 10. Allen Stockberger was also elected as vice president for 2011.

Re-appointed as clerk/administrator for the board of commissioners for 2011 was Rochelle Shackle.

The board approved advertising meeting dates for 2011 and appoint Stockberger as coordinator for handicapped discrimination regulations. Meetings for 2011 will be at 10 a.m. each Monday and Thursday until completion of business on those days. Individuals may request advance notification of all meetings at which any specific type of business will be discussed.

Appointment to various committees for 2011 then followed. For the coming year, commissioner Teresa Bemiller will serve on the Emergency Food and Shelter Board, Family & Children First Council, Revolving Loan Board, Solid Waste Executive Board, Solid Waste Budget/Audit Committee, MOTA board, 9-1-1 board, Investment Board and the Board of Revision.
