CENTERBURG — The Wellness Center at Centerburg High School, now called the Centerburg Fitness Center, will be open to the public in 2011. The school board on Monday approved the final draft of a one-year operational agreement with Knox Community Hospital which will provide supervision, personal training and assessment services. Hours of operation are from 5 to 9 a.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Monday though Friday, and 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Reorganizing for 2011, the board chose Ed Lambert to serve as president, Treasurer Ellen Scott told the News on Tuesday. Leroy Bumpus will serve as legislative liaison as well as the vice president, and Jason Rogers was appointed Knox County Career Center observer. Regular board meetings in 2011 will be held in the administration board room at 6 p.m. on the second Monday of each month.

Regarding personnel, the board awarded Jim Stoyle a two-year supplemental contract to serve as varsity head football coach and issued a number of supplemental contracts to spring sport coaches. Paul Pack was approved as a volunteer with the wrestling program, and Brandon Harry with the baseball program. Amanda Meyhoefer was approved as an after-school tutor on an as-needed basis, and FMLA requests from Brody Griffith, Dorothy Holden and Erin Hoyt were granted. Also, a number of individuals were employed to assist with the 21st Century student after-school activities. They will be paid with grant funds.
