Cleaning off the snow

There was a good three inches of powder snow Tuesday afternoon on this E. Vine Street sidewalk of the Luanne Dunham home. Her brother, Jon Dunham worked his broom vigorously to the clear 300 feet of brick sidewalk.  (Virgil Shipley)

Repair work continues on McArthur Street

Workmen from Canyon Construction Co. of Fredericktown are nearing completion of the renovation of McArthur Street between Gambier and Vine streets. Matt Hilberg was smoothing out the gravel base in preparation to pouring the cement base for the brick street. They planned to have the base in place today.  (Virgil Shipley)

Demolition nearly finished

The only remaining section of the old Hiawatha School building on Sychar Road still standing Tuesday morning was the original school structure built in 1921. The demolition contractors expect to tear down the rest of the structure today.   (Virgil Shipley)
