MOUNT VERNON — Joseph Worley, a suspect in the burglary of the Martinsburg Marathon Station on Saturday night, was arraigned Tuesday morning in Mount Vernon Municipal Court on misdemeanor traffic charges related to the alleged burglary.

Worley was arraigned on three charges including failure to use reasonable control, driving under financial responsibility suspension and failure to comply with the order of a police officer. Worley pleaded not guilty to the failure to control and driving under financial suspension charges. A court date is scheduled for Jan. 26 at 9 a.m.

The failure to comply charge was dismissed and a felony breaking and entering charge was filed in municipal court. Worley was to be personally served with the felony warrant at the Knox County Jail where he is being held. The felony charge is being handled by the Knox County Prosecutor’s Office.

Worley is being held in the Knox County Jail on parole holder

A call to the Knox County Prosecutor’s Office seeking additional details was not returned at press time.
