An icy winter fest

The annual Mohican Winter Fest of ice sculptures in Loudonville has 28 ice creations around the fountain on the square and throughout the downtown. The sculptures are sponsored by businesses and made by Rock of Ice, a firm in Columbus specializing in ice sculptures. The cold weather has helped to maintain the beautiful pieces of art.  (Virgil Shipley)

Kerkhoff to perform with All-State Orchestra

Willa Kerkhoff, a sophomore, will represent Mount Vernon High School in the 2011 All-State Orchestra. She will perform with the group on Friday at the Ohio Music Educators Association convention in Cincinnati.  (Pam Schehl)

City to redraw district wards

This map depicts the current city ward boundaries as established in 2001. This year the city will have to review these boundaries and see what changes need to be made based on the population numbers of the 2010 census.   (Submitted photo)
