CENTERBURG — The village of Centerburg will hold a public meeting tonight to discuss the proposed creation of Centerburg Township.

Village Council members, Hilliar Township trustees, Knox County Auditor Jonette Curry and Village Solicitor Kyle Stroh are scheduled to be in attendance.

According to Village Council member Susie Oswalt, the village is contemplating the creation of a township but has yet to determine if it will vote to approve the ordinance which heard its second reading in January.

“There are different reasons and there are pros and cons to it, which is why we have to approach it carefully,” Oswalt said.
