MOUNT VERNON — Development of a new website is being explored by Knox County Job and Family Services, according to KCJFS Director Matthew Kurtz who met with the Knox County Commissioners on Monday morning to give them his report.
“The state has allocated money for system enhancement which is kind of coordinated branding,” said Kurtz, explaining how this project would be a collaborative effort with Delaware, Marion and Morrow counties. “We have a vendor who is still working things out. It’s still in the early stages.”
Designer for the project is Oxiem Development and Design of Dublin. Kurtz shared similar websites on his laptop designed by Oxiem for the commissioners to view.
“It will be much easier to manage than our current site. It has a nice, clean, modern look,” said Kurtz. “It will be more interactive but is made to be very simple.
More meetings with Oxiem are planned in the coming weeks in making any final decisions on the website development.
Kurtz added that he has a couple of annual reports that he will be sharing with the commissioners in the coming weeks. This will include proposed changes with the Children Services advisory board and statistics showing how 2010 affected his department.
