Patching up part of the road
Mount Vernon City street crews were out filling potholes on Coshocton Avenue this morning. “We’re using cold patch right now,” explained Lori Watts, administrative assistant to David Carpenter, superintendent of the city streets department. “That’s all that’s available to work with right now. It won’t last but it should help. The asphalt companies will not be making the hot mix asphalt until sometime in April. We’re at their mercy.”Asphalt companies do not typically start producing the more permanent hot mix until the weather starts to get warmer. (George Breithaupt)
