HOWARD — Formerly Hutt’s Place, and due to popular demand, the Howard Hilton opened for business Feb. 1. The new management, proprietors Larry Wolford and Nate Presley, have made a few changes, but aim to bring back the old crowd while attracting new customers.
“We’re trying to do it right,” Wolford said. “We have three beers on tap, wine, hard liquor and good food. We serve sandwiches, soups, chips and things like that. We use no frozen food like hamburger; it’s all fresh hamburger patties.”
The Howard Hilton plans to offer Friday dinner specials, such as spaghetti, every other week or so, and live entertainment by local bands is planned on occasion. There is no cover charge.
Wolford, who has lived in Howard since he was 7 years old, said he and Presley decided to take over the establishment because of conversations in the community.
“When it was shut down for about a month,” he said, “everybody was asking to have it opened back up. So we did.”
Asked what he would like the community to know about the Howard Hilton, Wolford said, “It’s a good place to eat. It’s a good place for people to come and enjoy themselves.”
The Howard Hilton is on Coshocton Road in Howard.
