Emma Conkle of North Mulberry Street, Mount Vernon, now has enough wood for the rest of the winter thanks to members of her church. Paul DeVore is shown loading a wagon with pieces of wood from the trailer; about 1 1/2 cords were delivered and stacked. The other men, Shawn Conrad, Jim Schock, Don Bryan and Ron Warner cut and split the wood Wednesday from one of their farms. The weather was perfect for the work, they said, sunny and cool with a light breeze.
