MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Commissioners met with Mike Lemmons on Thursday afternoon to discuss contract verbage regarding an easement on his property near Millwood. A centralized sewer project near Millwood is in the plans with the county commissioners, and Lemmons is one of a few property owners affected by this project. The county would be purchasing a parcel of land approximately 15-by-20-feet to allow for the easement.

In reviewing the proposed contract, Lemmons had concerns of a three-phase power line going in underground, not wanting a pear tree on his property disturbed and the possibility of a fence being put in near the project. “I don’t want a fence put in,” said Lemmons, “but who’s to say that someone won’t put one in?” Commissioner Roger Reed suggested this request be put in writing within the contract.
