Leader Gordon Yance to retire in July
MOUNT VERNON — Vickie A. Sant was appointed president of The First-Knox National Bank at today’s meeting of the board of directors. Sant will succeed Gordon E. Yance who announced his retirement effective July 1, 2011.

After 33 years of service at First-Knox, including the past nine years as president, Yance will continue as chairman of the board and remain active in a number of community organizations.
“I am fortunate to follow great leaders at First-Knox and am very proud of the management team that has supported me during my term as president,” Yance said. “Vickie consistently demonstrates effective leadership in our bank and great dedication to our community as an active volunteer in numerous organizations. She is committed to our community bank culture and it has been rewarding to witness her professional development throughout the years.”
Sant began her First-Knox career in 1976 as a statement clerk and has held numerous positions including auditor, vice president of operations, branch administrator, and executive vice president. She is also a member of the First-Knox board of directors. She has directed many important bank projects including computer system conversions, technology upgrades, product developments, branch office construction and renovations, and branch purchases. Her responsibilities have included everything from customer service to strategic planning.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, after receiving an associate’s degree in accounting from Central Ohio Technical College. She is a graduate of the Ohio School of Banking, the American Institute of Banking School of EDP Auditing, the Cannon Trust Audit and Compliance School and the National Association of Financial Services Auditors School.
First-Knox National Bank is one of 11 Ohio community banks that make up The Park National Bank organization. Park National Bank President and former First-Knox National Bank President David L. Sant is a native of Mount Vernon. She is married to Keith Sant and has three grown children. Brian Bernicken and his wife, Amy, reside in Akron. Brooke Bernicken resides in Brentwood, Tenn. and Brittany Sant resides in Mount Vernon and attends Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
