Early morning crash

Matt Breuer, 36, Danville, escaped injury in this rollover crash at 6:20 a.m. today on the Fredericktown-Amity Road at Rinehart Road. Breuer told the Ohio State Highway Patrol he swerved to dodge deer in the road when his Ford F-250 pickup ran off the right side of the road and rolled onto its top.  (Virgil Shipley)

Mount Vernon Hall of Fame welcomes new members

Taking pressure off

When the site of the former Kresge building on South Main Street was filled with dirt, it was putting pressure on the basement wall of the adjoining Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Buchwald Center. A 9-foot deep wall was constructed, back filled with gravel and topped a concrete pad to take pressure off the wall. Workmen completed the project Friday.   (Virgil Shipley)
