100th anniversary

Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the National Exchange Club the Exchange Club of Mount Vernon/Knox County donated $500 to Children’s Connection. The check was presented to Gail Lyall, left, director of the Children’s Connection, by Exchange Club President Dodie Melvin. Friday’s program also included a short history of the local club presented by past president Bruce Malek. The Exchange Club is a service organization promoting Americanism and child abuse prevention.  (Virgil Shipley)
