Helping out with the pledge
Specialist E-4 Daniel White, 23, an Afghanistan veteran visited the preschool class at the Knox County Career Center where his mother, Cathy Roe, is an assistant teacher. The students have learned the Pledge of Allegiance and as a serviceman White came to their class Wednesday to participate in the daily pledge. Students help plant trees
An ongoing project with the horticultural class at the Knox County Career Center is the planting of trees in Mount Vernon for the Shade Tree Commission. Fredericktown softball champs
On Saturday the local softball team known as Black/Gold won the Fredericktown Men’s Spring Opener tournament by beating T.J. Thorp, 28-16. Bracket winner
Ezra Kirk won $100 and has a chance at a $25,000 grand prize for winning the local Bracket Bucks competition. Out of over 400 submissions, Kirk was the only person in the area to correctly predict two Final Four teams. (Alan Reed)
