HOWARD — Concern about erosion control at a housing development site took the Knox County Commissioners to the site to see the situation for themselves. They were accompanied by Knox Soil & Water Conservation District Program Administrator Rob Clendening.

The KSWCD administers the county’s regulations on erosion control at development sites.

The site, known as The Reserves, is in the midst of the Apple Valley development, but is not part of Apple Valley. S&S Construction of Howard is the contractor preparing the site.

Commissioner Allen Stockberger said the commissioners had been aware of problems at the site and neighbors had called about runoff, so since they had an opening in their schedule they decided to see it for themselves.

“There’s nothing like looking at it first hand,” said Commissioner Teresa Bemiller.
