MOUNT VERNON — A Knox County man, James Burch, 21, was killed in a one-car crash about 5:15 a.m. today. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash was on Ohio 586 just south of Sycamore Road.

The patrol said Burch was southbound in his 2003 Dodge Neon when he lost control. The car left the right side of the road into the ditch, where he overcorrected. It came back on the road and overturned onto the top, sliding to a stop on the road.

Burch was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the car. He was pronounce dead at the scene by Knox County Coroner Jennifer Ogle.
