DANVILLE — With a tough winter behind them, members of Danville Village Council took a look Monday night at what needs to be done to repair streets in the village.

Council and village officials have been trying to prioritize a list of streets that need paving this spring. With a large amount of work to be completed, council approved at its meeting to move $25,000 from the general fund to paving for this year.

According to Councilman Darin Durbin, there are about a dozen streets in critical shape with another 10 or so close. Danville had $19,000 in carryover from last year, and with the $25,000 extra, is trying to get as much paved as possible. They have looked into chip and seal for some roads, and using hot patch asphalt for other areas.
